Café Tico brings you Costa Rica’s most popular coffees. The coffees that we have imported have come from the most fertile coffee growing regions in the country. The beans have been carefully selected, roasted and packaged in Costa Rica. This differs from the many other coffee companies that buy the beans from Costa Rica, and then roast and package them in the United States. This is because Costa Rica sets the world standard for consistently high quality in both its wet processing and dry milling. Thus, the coffees we are importing have a distinguishable taste from those other imports.

Specially packaged for freshness, we bring these coffees to you with the desire to give you the same great coffees that were a regular staple in our home in Costa Rica.

Our roots

When our family moved from Costa Rica to California, we realized that although this country could offer just about anything, the one thing it lacked was Costa Rican coffee; that is the types of coffee actually grown, roasted, packaged and consumed by Costa Ricans. The coffee they drank in Costa Rica had a notably richer flavor than those sold in the United States. So,we decided to import our favorite coffees from Café Rey, which is one of Costa Rica’s best coffee companies. Café Rey is a family run business with over 50 years of coffee production and its coffees are commonly found in many Costa Rican homes and businesses.

We named our import company Café Tico, because Tico is a name that Costa Ricans use to identify themselves, and thus the name indicates the original and unique coffees that we have imported from the land of the “Pura Vida”.
